Our hero, Robin of Locksley (not yet Sir at the time) lives in a land where Prince John has proclaimed himself the king after his brother, King Richard the Lionhearted, was taken captive during one of his holy crusades. This noble class was made up of lords and knights that controlled chunks of the land and fought over the coveted crown of England. Those were feudal times of course and England was governed by the nobility. Robin Hood: Defender of the Crown takes place in the eleventh century.
Friar Tuck, Maid Marian, Little John, and the rest of the merry men will help in the adventure. Players must master the art of sword fighting and archery as well as jousting and siege warfare in order to rescue King Richard and reunite England. Essentially an enhanced remake of the company's first game, 1986's Defender of the Crown, Robin Hood features a variety of play styles to fit the many talents of its titular hero. After a ten-year hiatus, developer Cinemaware marks its return to the industry with the release of Robin Hood.
